How To Look After a Dog

Kia Ora bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this week for writing we had to write a text on how to do something like how to look after a cat or how to be a good team member. I chose How to look after a Dog. Here is my piece of writing.

How To Look After a Dog

Keeping your dog healthy: You can keep your Dog healthy by feeding the right

amount of food every day, sometimes your dog's vet will tell you how much to

feed your dog and when to feed your dog. Another way to keep your dog healthy

is to walk it Daley or a couple times a week.

Attention: You need to give your Dog attention or they might feel upset and

not trust you

What you need for your dog: If you own a dog you would definitely need a food

and water bowl for them. You will also need a leash so you can take your dog on

walks and you need a coller so if your dog gets lost the coller will help you

find it

Safety: A way you can keep your dog safe is you could get a fence around your

house so your dog does not run away. Another way you can keep you and your

dog safe is to train your dog or go to puppy training sessions so if you do that

your dog will get trained to not bite and to not jump. Sometimes if your dog bites

someone your dog can get put down and that can be really sad.

Keeping your dog entertained: If you don’t have time to take your dog on a walk

you could buy your dog some toys. Dogs usually really like ropes and

plush

Have you got a Dog?

Thank you for looking on my blog this week. Bye!

Why You Should let your Kids watch TV on a School Night

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this week for writing we had to make another persuasive text. My Title is "Why Children should be aloud to watch TV on a school night." What do you think? Do your think that children should or should not watch TV on a school night. When I do persuasive texts I like to do a checklist it goes a little like this

Intro stating your opinion and I rhetorical question

3 paragraphs with 3 new ideas

Summary no new ideas

and last a complex, compound and a simple sentence.

Here is my text.

Why Children Should Watch TV on a School Night

Children Should Watch TV on a School Night. Who doesn't want to catch

up on their favorite YouTubers or watch the news to see what is going on?

Well if so let your children watch TV on a school night.

What if you are going back into lockdown and you don’t know, what would

you do? What if your favorite youtube

You can still watch some TV and then you can read a book because

if you watch TV right before you go to bed it could be really bad for you.

If you let your kids watch TV before bed on a school night it might

help them calm down so they sleep better.

And because of the reasons above I truly believe that you should

let your kids watch TV before bed on a school night.

If you don’t let your kids watch TV on a school night they might feel sad.

I think that kids should watch TV on a school night. It's true, kids love watching TV!

Did I persuade you?

Why People Should Stop Littering

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this week for writing we had to make another persuading text. This time we could write about what ever we want, I chose to do why people should stop littering. Our goal this week is Vary sentence beginnings, structures and length. Write simple and compound sentences.

Here is my writing

Why People Should Stop Littering

People should stop littering. Do you want the earth our home to look like a rubbish bin?

The earth would be a sad place because all the animals would be getting extinct.

If you want to have a nice walk on the beach it would be really hard because

there would be rubbish everywhere. If you are walking or running you might

trip over the rubbish.

And because of the reasons above that is why I truly believe that people

should stop littering.

If you don’t stop littering the earth would be a sad place. I don’t think that

people should keep littering, We don’t want the earth to look like rubbish.

Did I persuade you?

Thank you for looking on my blog this week. Bye!

Why Schools Should Not Ban Junk Food

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this week we were in lock down so we had to distance learning. For writing we had to make a speech on why schools should or should not ban junk food. I chose to write about why school should not ban junk food. I wrote my speech bit by bit.

First I started with a title

Then I did a introduction stating my opinion and rhetorical question

Next I did 2-3 sentences with 3 different ideas

After that I did a summary/ending

And lastly I did a complex, compound and simple sentence.

Here is my Speech

Why Schools Should Not Ban Junk Food

Schools should not ban junk food. Well I know what most parents will be thinking,

most parents will be against me cause junk food is not good for you.

Don’t waste your time peeling mandarins or cutting apple slices.

You can just put some junk food in their lunch box and it's good to go.

You can just have a piece or two of fruit after school to balance out all that bad sugar.

If you have junk food for lunch it will help you get through the rest of the day.

And because of the reasons above I believe that junk food should be allowed at school.

If schools ban junk food the kids will be unhappy. I don’t think that schools should ban junk

food, it’s true all kids love it! We all love junk food.

Are you against me and thinking that schools should ban junk food or are you with me and schools should not ban junk food?

House of Bricks

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this term for PBL ( Project Based Learning ) we have been learning about being kind and happy. One Friday someone from House Of Bricks came to our school and let us play with there Lego bricks. We got to do 3 activity one before morning tea, one after morning tea and one after lunchtime.

My favourite Lego activity was passing the brick activity because I was making a mysterious

garden and it turned out kind of what I wanted but it turned out a little bit scarier than I imagined.

My least favorite Lego activity was the car building because it was a little bit hard but I had a buddy to help me.

My buddy's car broke at the end of the ramp. My buddy and I learned that putting more weight at the

back makes your car go further.

The activity that tested my perseverance the most was the mosaic because it was challenging

to think of what design I was going to do and it was also challenging to make your design

look the same as what you were imagining

The most challenging activity was passing the brick activity because it

was really hard to get your creation back and it was not like I had imagined.

I enjoyed  working collaboratively with others because I liked working with

someone because if I needed help I could talk to someone and they could help me.

What is your favorite thing to build out of lego?

Thank you for looking on my blog this week! Bye

Umbrella Writing

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, this week for writing we wrote a story based on a video we watched. The video was trying to teach people to use Empathy. Empathy is about putting you in someone else's shoes.

Here is the video we watched

We only wrote up to when the girl could not find her umbrella. In the story that we wrote we used lots of adjectives and similes. Here is my story

-Umbrella -

One damp Evening, the door to Miss Elem’s Home for Children opened wide. The girl with the Vibrant glossy yellow umbrella, reverently entered the orphanage before finding a home for her umbrella. Not wanting to be seen. Boris quickly slowly peered his head around the door frame so that he was hidden from view. Standing off to the side the girl observed the happy scene while the children searched in the box hidden treasures. The girl smiled while she watched the young boy flying around the room like a racing car. Her smile dissolved immediately as she saw were puddles of water. Her beloved umbrella had vanished in thin air.

Can you spot any Similes in my story?

Trip Recount

Kia Ora Bloggers and welcome back to my blog, so this week I am going to be showing you my trip recount about Margaret Mahy. A couple of weeks ago we had a trip to the Margaret Mahy Playground. On our trip we feed the tuna we learned about all of the story's around Margaret Mahy Playground we also went down to Victoria square and we also looked at the Maori Mats.

Here is mine!

On Thursday the 20th of May Tumu hub went to Margaret Mahy Playground.

The first activity we did was we looked at the Māori mats.

We learnt that there were 13 mats all around Christchurch.

Each color on the mats represents something. Next we went to feed the Tuna.

We feed them cat food. There was a huge female tuna at the bottom of the river.

After that we went on a waka. Before we got to go on the waka we had to learn the commands.

We finally got to go on the waka. My group got to go first. The people who worked with the

waka’s pushed the waka out to the river. We started to row down the river.

Next we went to Victoria Square and we learned about all the statues all over the square.

The statues talk about Queen Victoria and Captain Cook.

Our Activity that we had to do was to draw one of the statues in the square.

I choose to do the poe. After that we went back to Margaret Mahy playground and we learned all about the stories about Margaret Mahy.

The stories were carved into the ground all over Margaret Mahy playground .

My favorite part of the trip was the waka because I liked rowing under the bridge and up and down the river.

Something I learnt was that one of the carvings at Margaret Mahy playground is a song.

I also learned that before the 2011 earthquake happened Margaret Mahy Playground was an indoor

swimming pool.

The thing I found the most interesting was that you can feed tuna cat food and mince.

This trip has helped me with my PBL because now I know where a couple of the mats are and I know a lot about them.

Have you ever been to the Margaret Mahy Playground before?
